Really? No other Gmodder in the community has done this yet? Welp, here goes.
Right off the bat i just wanna say that what i think Joseph Kony does is absolutely terrible and in-humane, he honestly needs a foot broken off in his ass. And that this picture satirizes what he does (that is if he's rounding up little boys anymore) and is not to be taken seriously or to be intentionally racist.
For those of you who don't know Joseph Kony is an African man in the country of Uganda who used to be a leader of a Guerrilla force known as the L.R.A whose purpose was to purge/convert the country into Christianity as its primary religion. Joseph at the moment has been kidnapping African chilidren and forcing them to be apart of his "personal" army, as well as having them be his "sex slaves." The situation was brought to light by Jason Russell, a filmaker who made a video about Kony and the crimes he committed, entitled "Kony 2012" which has also become a campaign to help stop Kony and to help the people of Uganda.
Now here comes my opinion, I do not like Jason Russell. At all. What he's doing is a scam and is only benefiting himself rather than the people of Uganda. Care to tell me wrong about all that, that's what i've speculated through several sources. The reason he's going to be fucking filthy rich is because the public will keep eating this "Kony 2012" shit up but the government will do absolutely nothing about the whole "Kony" situation because they don't want to fund a military campaign just to find one man who in no way is a threat to the U.S. Osama was, and therefore gave us a reason to hunt him down and put a bullet in his left eye. What happened after Osama died? The levels of terrorism and attacks in the middle east decreased dramatically, well "Yahoo!" hasn't brought up any articles or news relating to that, so I assume that it's stopped. Yeah i'm an idiot an' shit, go figure.
Africa already is a terrible enough place as it is, the U.S in the past could've helped Africa and its problems so that even more problems wouldn't arise but nope. Nothing. The only reason the U.S probably still cares about Africa is because of the Oil,Salt, and Gold Africa has to offer. That's the reason the U.S won't go up against Kony, if they go into Uganda and take him out they will probably want something the country has to offer.
Oh, and that whole "Cover the Night" thing? Huge Failure. What did that do? It made Jason Russell even richer. It was a wasted effort since people at the moment don't give a shit for Russell and his campaign ever since his "Whacking off" incident in San Fran, Great role modeling for your son "Gaven" Russell. And that incident probably attracted more attention towards Russell therefore attracting more attention to his campaign. Also that people are finding the whole "Kony 2012" thing controversial. Maybe because its a.. SCAM?? NAHH U CRAZY??
I for one do not care for the country of Africa, i'm sorry folks i don't. And that if we're going to go out there, meaning, ALL of us, just to stop Joseph Kony and to put our lives on the line for all the little girls and boys of Uganda, no. No i wouldn't do it. Call me sadistic or heartless but that's the truth, me nor anyone else isn't going to do it. I simply do not care what happens because i'm not effected by what Kony does.
And that's what i think of Kony 2012. I'm so sorry Louis.
I thought they were running him as a candidate, Kony 2012. XD
Honestly I read about Kony long before the invisible children crap, like many huge armchair militarists, on "The ExileD"'s "War nerd" column years ago. Now I know how those annoying hipsters feel when they go "Yeah I liked them before they were cool" feel like, and I blame you all for it.
I humbly suggest it'd be sooo nice if everyone could get off the civilized man's burden boat. The last time someone did this did not go well, ask the Somalis.
To be fair, the "Let's send the army after one guy who hasn't really done anything lately!" gimmick pretty much gave it away.
But with Jason Russell I kinda have to give him that "Well I'm by no means a fan of yours but you sure got the job done." The job being to exploit people who just read what's on screen and take that as truth considering he's gone and nicely picked out a topic that was lesser known, yet not unheard of.
Aside from that, this is a pretty awkward time to be making pictures about it, if anything you're just giving him attention thanks to those oh-so-wonderful, previously mentioned people who just look at the picture and get all intimidated by the concept of a description below designed to take the picture from an arrangement of pixels to something they'd actually have to think about. But with that out of the way, heck. Yeah. Way to just say something that's been established a load of times already. That and whilst this is out of place here, the fact you're willing to go and write up a wall of text detailing an opinion on the matter tells me you're probably a cool enough guy.
